What We Collect

Codewords stores only what the game needs to work:

• Account: your email address and a display name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your verified email and name from them; we never see your password for those services.
• Game data: games you create or join, teams, clues, guesses, and custom word lists you save.

What We Do Not Do

• No ads, no trackers, no analytics services.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
• No data brokers, no marketing emails.

Where It Lives

Data is stored on our server (hosted by DreamHost in the United States) and is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords for email accounts are stored as one-way hashes.

Deleting Your Data

Email jesse@jessehaynes.com from your account address and we will delete your account and its data. Games you hosted are removed with it.

Children

Codewords is a family word game. We collect the same minimal data from every player and nothing beyond what is listed above.
